Our first stop is the renowned Egyptian Museum, home to the world’s largest collection of ancient Egyptian artifacts spanning 5,000 years. After a delicious local lunch, we’ll head to the medieval Citadel of Salah al-Din – a fortress on a hill overlooking Cairo. Here we’ll explore the ornate Muhammad Ali Mosque and take in panoramic views of the city. Then it’s on to Coptic Cairo, the oldest area of the capital. Meek narrow alleyways lead us between ancient Roman towers and fortified gates to some of the earliest Christian churches. We’ll also discover Babylon Fortress, the ruins of an ancient fortress, and Ben Ezra Synagogue, the oldest Jewish synagogue in Egypt.
